About Syndication and RSS
New to RSS and syndication on the web? This page offers a straightforward explanation of the purpose and promise that syndication brings to Internet publishing and browsing.

What is RSS?
"RSS" stands for Really Simple Syndication, which does not adequately describe what RSS actually is: RSS is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. Using this standard, Web publishers provide updates, such as the latest news headlines or weblog postings or of course job vacancies. Meanwhile, consumers use RSS reader applications (or one of a growing number of online services) to collect and monitor their favorite feeds in one place. So the bottom line for job hunters is that RSS makes reviewing a large number of job vacancies in a very short time possible.

How do I read Monarch Recruitment RSS Feeds?
If you would like to utilise the Monarch Recruitment RSS Job feeds then you have a wide variety of RSS reading applications to choose from. There are many desktop applications for Windows and Mac OS system users, however, we highly recommend FeedDemon (Windows) and NetNewsWire (Mac OS X). Both of these applications require a small acquisition cost but are highly recommended for ease of use and come with lots of feeds pre-loaded to help you explore the world of RSS syndication. There are many free RSS readers available also; searching for "RSS Reader" in your favourite search engine will provide you with many different options.

New web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera are now available with RSS syndication functionality installed and are also free to download. The next version of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is also expected to include the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds.
